NOTICE TO BIDDERS

It is the intent of the City of Big Rapids, to issue this Bid for the Construction / Installation and Design of the Fire Detection System at BIG RAPIDS CITY HALL in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, Local jurisdictions, Codes and Standards and specific Licensing requirements of the City of Big Rapids.

The City of Big Rapids is requesting Bids for a Fire Detection System. All Bids shall follow the City of Big Rapids requirements of a “SEALED BID”, placed within a sealed envelope submitted to the City of Big Rapids Treasury Department Bids located at 226 N. Michigan Avenue, Big Rapids, MI 49307 until 2:00 p.m. local time, Monday, December 18, 2023. At that time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.

The City of Big Rapids will provide .pdfs of the building’s floor plans. BIDDERS SHALL ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THESE DRAWINGS ARE TO BE USED AS A GUIDE. THE PLANS MAY NOT BE COMPLETE OR CORRECT – DRAWINGS WILL NEED TO BE FIELD VERIFIED BY THE BIDDER.

Facility site visits may be scheduled, by contacting Eric Haluska, eric.haluska@cityofbr.org . Facility site visits may be scheduled Monday – Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The Facility address is 226 North Michigan Avenue, Big Rapids, MI 49307.

All bids shall be clearly marked “BIG RAPIDS CITY HALL FIRE DETECTION SYSTEM”. The City of Big Rapids reserves the right to accept or reject all or any bids or to waive informalities, and to award the bid in any manner deemed to be in the best interest of the City. Award will only be to a responsive and responsible bidder whose bid, conforms to all the material items and conditions of the bid. All bid prices must remain valid for 60 days past the submission deadline.

Bid Requirements:

• Bid will be for a FIRE DETECTION SYSTEM
• Plans, equipment submittals and operation of the new fire system require review for code compliance by from the City of Big Rapids – Fire Marshal prior to
• Successful Bidder shall attend a pre-construction meeting with City personnel to discuss site restrictions and building accessibility.

At closeout, The City shall be provided final drawings, warranty, operation and maintenance manuals and all applicable certifications.
