Description

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Ocean Service (NOS), Office of the Assistant Administrator (OAA), Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary, Alpena, MI, has a requirement for a multi-purpose winch to operate a side scan sonar system onboard research vessel at Wisconsin Shipwreck Coast National Marine Sanctuary (WSCNMS). To document and monitor known sanctuary resources, and to systematically locate currently undiscovered resources, the sanctuary has purchased a side scan sonar system. A shipboard multi-purpose winch is required to utilize this system. The multipurpose winch will be used with a side scan sonar system by WSCNMS and other Great Lakes national marine sanctuaries.
