You are invited to submit comments/feedback in response to this Sources Sought Request for Information (RFI) concerning an upcoming solicitation for a refrigeration truck rental to the Iowa National Guard, Camp Dodge Joint Maneuver Training Center, USPFO-P&C, Bldg. 3475, 7105 NW 70th Avenue, Johnston, IA 50131-1824.
Quotes are not requested at this time.
Salient characteristics (requirements) for the proposed refrigeration truck shall meet or exceed the salient characteristics described below. Please provide comments/feedback, to include the following:
1. Can your business provide a quote for this requirement?
2. Are the salient characteristics either too vague or too restrictive?
4. Any other useful information to improve the salient characteristics?
5. Any additional information that would be helpful to prepare a quote?

SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS (Requirements):
Pick-up / return location – within 50 miles of Camp Grayling, 2450 Camp Grayling Rd., Grayling, Michigan 49738 (other locations may be considered along route from Iowa to Camp Grayling).
Pick-up on 31 July 2023 and return on 20 August 2023.
Federal Government is self-insured.
Estimated milage is uncertain at this time (depends on pick-up location).
Technical Requirements:
- Diesel fuel straight frame truck.
- Thermal box minimum size of 18 ft to a maximum size of 26 ft in length and shall use diesel fuel to power refrigeration unit.
- Nose-mounted refrigeration unit.
Chassis and Other Options:
- Regular Cab.
- Up to 28,000 lbs. GVW.
- Up to 10,000 lbs. payload.
- Power steering.
- Automatic transmission.
- Air brakes w/ ABS (Bendix Anti-Lock Brake System).
- Daytime running lights.
- Roof marker/clearance lights.
Temperature Controlled Area:
- Shall be capable of dual temperature operation (32 degrees and 0 degrees).
- Shall be able to store both refrigerated and frozen items at the same time.
- Shall be able to monitor temperature without opening doors.
