The City of Holland (City) is a municipal corporation governed by an elected, nine-member City Council and operates on a June 30 fiscal year. The City manages an investment portfolio for operating funds of approximately $20 million. This portfolio is comprised primarily of cash equivalents (money market funds, commercial paper), bank certificates of deposit (issued by Michigan banks), municipal bonds (Michigan issuers), government agency bonds, and direct treasury obligations. The City has adopted a written Investment Policy which regulates the parameters and procedures used in its cash and investment management activities.
